Where can we run to?

Our Safe Place. In the new land of Israel during the time of Joshua, God commanded that six cities be set aside for people that need protection before trial. “Cities of Refuge” Joshua 20:7-8. The city names were 1. Kedesh which means SANCTUARY. 2. Shechem = SHOULDER. 3. Hebron = FELLOWSHIP ( or friendship). 4. Bezer = ROCK. 5. Ramoth = HIGHLY EXALTED. 6. Golan = JOY. Even in the names of the Old Testament cities we see Jesus. Our “shelter and shade from the heat of the day and a refuge and hiding place from the storm and rain” Isaiah 4:6 “The eternal God is your refuge and underneath are The everlasting arms.”Deuteronomy 33:27 Jesus is our SANCTUARY (hiding place). He is the SHOULDER that holds us up in FELLOWSHIP with Him. He is our ROCK that is HIGHLY EXALTED. Jesus is our only JOY. “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way.” Psalms 46:1. “He will cover you with His feathers and under His wings you will find refuge.” Psalms 91:4 Jesus, our safe place. I’m praying for you.

How does God talk to us?

God Shouts! “I am The Lord,’He says ‘ and there is no other. I publicly proclaim Bold promises. I do not whisper obscurities in some dark corner so no one can understand what I mean. ” Isaiah 45:18-19. “Listen to Me… I created you and have cared for you since before you were born. I will be your God throughout your lifetime-until your hair is white with age. I made you and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.” Isa.46:3-4 “I am The Lord…The One who CALLS YOU BY NAME.” Isa.45:3 “I have called you back from the ends of the earth so you can serve me. For I have chosen you and I will not throw you away.” Isa.41:9 “The Lord who created you says’ Do not be afraid for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; YOU ARE MINE. When you go through deep waters and great troubles, I will be with you…For I am The Lord , YOUR God.” Isaiah 43:1-3. God shouts, proclaims, calls- YOU ARE MINE! I HAVE CHOSEN YOU! I CALL YOU BY NAME! DO NOT BE AFRAID!!!! Wow what love The Savior has for us. I’m praying for you.

Dread? Problems? Fears?

Dread? In problems? Jesus told his disciples “Tonight all of you will desert me” Matt.26:31. Jesus warns us “Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows” John 16:33b. BUT Jesus is on the other side! Matt. 26:32 “But after I have been raised from the dead, I WILL GO AHEAD of you to Galilee and MEET YOU THERE. ” Matt. 28:10 “Don’t be afraid. Go tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me. ” Mark 16:7 “He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see Him, just as He told you. ” Isaiah 43:2-3 ” When you GO THROUGH deep waters and great troubles, I WILL BE WITH YOU. When you GO THROUGH rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you WALK THROUGH the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up… For I am the Lord your God, your Savior.” Jesus has gone through it all and has fixed it and is just waiting for us to get to the other side of the problem. John 16:33a “I have told you all this so that you may have peace IN ME” I’m praying for you today and always.

Lack of faith stops God? NO

Do circumstances control your faith? If life is bad, do you still believe? If your needs are not met has God left you? The 11 disciples followed a man named Jesus. They gave up family and entire livelihood because they believed Jesus was God, The Messiah. Then Jesus died. They lost it all and they quit. This is too hard. I can’t see or feel God. I thought God promised to care. I believed. I was wrong. Now I have nothing. THEN Jesus told the women on THAT Sunday morning to set up a reunion! Matthew 28:16-20 “The moment they saw Him they worshiped Him. Some, though HELD BACK, not sure about worship, about risking themselves totally. But Jesus, UNDETERRED, went right ahead and gave His charge…” Their lack of faith DID NOT STOP blessings from Christ! Jesus promised “… I will be with you as you do this day after day after day, right up to the end of the age. ” God is always faithful, even if our faith is lacking. Grace and love are unfailing and UNCONDITIONAL! Worship our Savior. Have a wonderful day!

God’s Eyes!

What is He looking at? 2Chronicles 16:9 “The EYES of The Lord search the whole earth in order to STRENGTHEN those whose hearts are fully committed to Him. “(NLT) God looks to strengthen His own. He finds us when we are scattered. “Not one is missing, not one is forgotten. God the Father has His EYE on each of you, and has determined by the work of the Spirit to keep you obedient through the sacrifice of Jesus and His blood. ” 1Peter 1:1-2(The Message) “Do not be afraid or discouraged, for The Lord is the one who goes before you. He will be with you; He will neither fail you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:8(NLT) God found us out in the wilderness. He threw His arms around us, lavished attention on us, and guards us as the “APPLE OF HIS EYE. ” God doesn’t see our failures. He doesn’t sit in heaven and wait for us to sin so He can rain down punishment. God lovingly keeps us in His sight as His most precious possession. Through the blood, God sees us as perfect!

The music of my life

What keeps us Alive-not just living?
When Jesus was hungry, Satan tempted Him. Matthew 4:4 “Jesus answered by quoting Deuteronomy (8:3) ‘It takes more than bread to stay alive. It takes a steady stream of WORDS from the mouth of God.” (TM) Psalms 119:103 “How sweet are your WORDS to my taste; they are sweeter than honey.” Vs 105 “Your WORD is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path” Vs 111 “Your decrees (WORDS) are my treasure; they are truly my hearts delight.” Vs 114 “You are my refuge and my shield; your WORD is my only source of hope. ” Vs 92 “If your law (WORD) had not sustained me with joy I would have died in my misery…you have used them(WORDS) to restore my joy and health.” Vs 129 “Your decrees(WORDS) are wonderful. As your WORDS are taught, they give light, even the simple can understand.” Vs 52-54 “Open my eyes to the wonderful truth in your laws. I meditate on your age-old laws (WORDS). O Lord they comfort me. Your principles (WORDS) have been the MUSIC OF MY LIFE”

Can we really hear God?

Heart’s Hear! Psalms 27:8a “My heart has heard…” God speaks to our hearts. What does God say? Ps. 27:8a “Come and talk with Me”. God asks us to come and talk. No condemnation. No requirement. Just talk! What does YOUR heart say? Ps. 27:8b “And my heart responds ‘Lord, I’m coming!!” Ps. 26:3 “For I am constantly aware of your unfailing love” Ps. 31:7 “I am overcome with joy because of your unfailing love.” Ps. 33:22 “Let your unfailing love surround us Lord for our hope is in you alone.”. The voice of the Lord, Ps. 29, “echoes above the sea, is full of power, splits the cedars, strikes with lightening bolts, shakes the desert and strips the forest bear. ” But God speaks to our hearts and our hearts hear Him. LORD, I’M COMING!!!

Again and again and again? Really?

AGAIN!! Are you kidding me? We mess up. Others mess us up. Again. But we have a savior who is Constant! Jeremiah 30:10-11 “So do not be afraid, my servant…For I will bring you home AGAIN… For I am with you and I will save you, says the Lord. ” Jer. 31:3-4 the Lord says “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with loving kindness I have DRAWN you. AGAIN I will build you up…you will AGAIN be happy. ” Jesus promised the Father-John 17:26 “And I have revealed you to them and WILL KEEP ON revealing you. I will do this so that your love for me may be in them and I in them. ” His Salvation, His Grace, His Love = the Infinite and Eternal AGAIN! John 17:19 “And I give myself entirely to you so they also might be entirely yours. ” Praise and thank Him-AGAIN.
